Yu Ji’s Artworks:

This App contains photographs of all Yu Ji’s artworks since 1997, including those from international performance festivals.

This App also contains reviews and interview articles from five world-famous critics and curators, in which Yu has made a vivid depiction of his artistic experience as well as featured interpretation of his own artistic creation and concept.

This App presents photographs of Yu in his sole exhibition, working in his studio as well as in life.

Yu Jis Artworks Show:

- To look at Yu Jis works with the time order, you will find an expressing trait which through several years: from inside observing to outside searching; from seeking into heart space to roughly throw the spear of criticism to the vanity fair; from the angel of physical body searching the world to directly show the physical body feature.

- In 1990s, Yu Jis works had some inner superior spirituality but in 21st century, he changed to daily life, with a way of more incisive, more physical and more rotted, deconstructing the value maze of contemporary culture.
- No matter the performance, installation or conceptual photograph, his selection of materials always shows an instinct which is neglecting the environment around and wild animal like. And to the selection of the subjects, it shows an interaction and competition between the individual wisdom experiences and the environment of art, together with the public opinions.

- For Yu Ji, the body consciousness is not because of performance art as a purpose, but because only the body is most sensitive to these realities. It is just in this sense Yu Ji’s body consciousness contains a double body consciousness and reflection. It is not only conscious of how the body becomes possible, but also concerning more about what it will mean in the event of the body become possible. Here, the body is both the purpose and the means. The body is the object of reflection as well as the object of overcome. Appealing to body is given a taste and background of temporality here by Yu Ji. The depressing of history, the whisper of spirit and the physical meaning of the body has been nearly lost, while a poetic, cultural, political body comes into being.
